Fall 2025 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to the recipients of the Charlene B. Kirtley Scholarship 2025 Fall Semester scholarships. Our chapter was excited to recognize 4 outstanding accounting and finance students at Grand Canyon University for their academic achievement and community involvement and awarded a total of $2000. Students are encouraged to apply for the Spring Semester scholarship in January 2026.
Our first recipient is Lucia Kim, a junior at Grand Canyon University majoring in Accounting. She developed a strong interest in accounting especially in tax while taking school courses and studying for the EA license. She recently passed all three parts of the exam and now is an officially licensed Enrolled Agent. She is planning to sit for the CPA exam after graduating. Outside of academics, she is passionate about continuous learning, exploring new sports, and enjoys discovering new coffee spots, staying active, and spending time with friends. Long term, her goal is to build a career in taxation and auditing while making a positive impact through ethical and responsible business practices.
Our second recipient is Ansley Heibult, a junior at Grand Canyon University majoring in Financial Planning with a minor in Spanish. Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, she is passionate about financial literacy, leadership, and empowering others through financial education. At GCU, Ansley is actively involved in the Finance and Economics Club and the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and serves as an analyst in the fixed income sector of the GCU Student Managed Investment Fund. She also works part-time for the GCU Honors College in the Global Education department. Outside of school, Ansley is an intern at Faith Investor Services (FIS), where she is gaining hands-on experience in investment management and client service. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, going to church, and traveling. Her long-term goal is to become a financial planner and help individuals achieve financial security and confidence.
Our next recipient is Bryce Birdsell, a Finance major at Grand Canyon University, graduating in 2027 with a 3.98 GPA. He currently works as a Data Service Intern with Matthews Real Estate Investment Services and as a licensed real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Bryce previously built and operated a seasonal landscaping business, gaining entrepreneurial experience and leadership skills. He is in GCU’s Finance and Real Estate Clubs and is exploring career paths in real estate finance.
Ashley Johnson is an Accounting and Finance student at Grand Canyon University, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. With a strong interest in financial analysis and accounting, she brings a detail-oriented and analytical mindset to her studies. Outside the classroom, Ashley enjoys playing soccer for fun and staying active.
