Welcome to the AFWA Valley of the Sun Chapter

The Phoenix Chapter was formed in 1953 to provide local professionals an opportunity to connect with peers, develop leadership skills and promote women in the industry. In 1986, the Mesa East Valley Chapter was formed to give additional opportunities for leadership and connection. In 2022 the Phoenix and Mesa East Valley Chapters merged to combine resources to continue growing our presence in the Phoenix metro area. The Valley of the Sun Chapter is here to provide resources, connections and opportunities for students and professionals in all areas of Accounting and Finance.

Founded in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance, members of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and their companies benefit from resources that accelerate their professional growth. The industry has evolved enormously for women in the past 83 years, with our organization smartly and passionately evolving with it, ahead of the curve, so that all women in accounting and finance can excel.

AFWA promotes the professional growth of women in all facets of accounting and finance. Members increase their career potential by connecting with colleagues, receiving education and mentorship to advance their careers, and developing leadership skills. For more than 80 years, members have tapped into a network of successful, motivated, and influential professionals who understand the unique position of being a woman in the industry and who, together, contribute to the future development of their profession.

Holiday Basket Raffle
Celebrate the season while supporting our local scholarship funds with tickets for our holiday theme baskets. Tickets available December 9th - 14th.

Holiday Toy Drive
Help the Foster Alliance by donating toys for foster children of all ages this holiday season. Our chapter is collecting toys to donate with the local Mariner Wealth Advisors office toy drive.
